High Porosity Hair with Brazilian Blowout Routine for Moisture Balance & Softness

How to Use Personalised Shampoo, Conditioner, Scalp Oil, LED Scalp Massager, Hair Mist, Hair Rinse & Heat Protection

High-porosity hair absorbs moisture easily — but it also releases it quickly.

When combined with infrequent washing, heat styling, or professional smoothing treatments like a Brazilian Blowout, this hair type benefits most from a routine that prioritises:

  • moisture balance
  • flexibility
  • gentle cleansing
  • controlled conditioning time

This routine is designed for customers who:

  • Have high-porosity hair
  • Wash once per week
  • Use heat styling
  • Have had a Brazilian Blowout or keratin smoothing treatment
  • Want softness and shine without heaviness or stiffness

Hair Profile Overview

Hair Porosity: High
Hair Colour: Grey, white, or platinum
Wash Frequency: Once weekly
Lifestyle Considerations: Heat styling · Brazilian Blowout
Routine Focus: Moisture balance · Flexibility · Scalp comfort

A Note for Hair with a Brazilian Blowout

Brazilian Blowouts and keratin smoothing treatments create a strengthening coating over the hair shaft.

Because of this, hair can sometimes feel:

  • rigid
  • dry to the touch
  • less flexible
  • slightly coated

This is not damage.

It is usually a sign that the hair needs moisture and flexibility — not more strengthening.

For that reason, this routine focuses on:

  • Hydration and softness
  • Controlled conditioning time
  • Minimal layering
  • Avoiding unnecessary protein overlap

Step 1: Pre-Wash Scalp Oil

Densify & Defend Scalp Oil + LED Scalp Massager

When to use:
The day before wash day or the morning of wash day

How to use:

  • Apply a small amount directly to dry scalp sections
  • Use the LED scalp massager for 5–10 minutes
  • Focus on dry or sensitive areas
  • Leave on for 30 minutes to 2 hours (or overnight if preferred)

Why this matters:
Pre-wash oiling supports scalp comfort and circulation without creating buildup — ideal for once-weekly washing and smoothing-treated hair.

Step 2: Cleanse

Personalised Shampoo

How to use:

  • Apply to the scalp only.
  • Massage gently, then lather the foam from the scalp onto the rest of the hair.
  • Avoid aggressively scrubbing the lengths — cleansing the scalp is the priority.
  • Only apply shampoo to the ends if you have really long hair and the foam from the scalp isn’t enough to cover it. Use small amounts.
  • Leave on for 2-3 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly.

Why this works:

Cleanses and balances the scalp while protecting porous, smoothing-treated lengths from overdrying.

Step 3: Condition (Most Important Step)

Personalised Conditioner

How to use:

  • Apply generously to mid-lengths and ends
  • Detangle gently by using a wet brush to comb out any knots picked up during washing.
  • Leave on for 5-7 minutes.
  • Rinse with lukewarm to cool water
  • Conditioning time is more important than quantity. Combing the hair with a wet brush helps to distribute the conditioner.

Why this step is essential:
For high-porosity hair — especially after a Brazilian Blowout — sufficient conditioning time restores flexibility and softness.

This is the primary hydration step of the routine.

Step 4: Wash Day Styling (Choose One Option)

Heat Styling Days

#3 Shield & Shine Heat Protector

  • Apply a small amount to damp hair.
  • Focus on mid-lengths and ends and the outer layer.
  • Comb through with a wet brush and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  • Blow-dry or heat style as usual.

Why this works:

On wash day, hydration comes from the conditioner.
This step seals and protects that moisture during heat styling without creating stiffness.

Heat protector and hair mist should not be layered on the same day.

Air-Dry / Non-Heat Day

Do not use the heat protector.

Apply #1 Frizz Control, Shine & Hydration Hair Mist to damp hair. Comb through hair with fingers or brush.

Let hair air dry naturally.

Apply another few pumps of the mist to settle flyaways if needed.

Step 5: Between Washes: Hydration and Frizz Control

#1 Frizz Control, Shine & Hydration Hair Mist

Use on dry hair, 2–3 times per week.

  • Lightly mist mid-lengths and ends. Avoid the scalp.
  • Smooth with your hands or use a brush to comb through.
  • No heat required.

Why this supports balance:
High-porosity hair loses moisture between washes.

This mist gradually replenishes hydration, helping hair remain soft and flexible without heaviness.

Step 6: Toning (Occasional Use Only)

Blue Pea Herbal Rinse – Anti-Yellow Toning Rinse

How often:
Once every 2–3 weeks

How to use:

  • Apply after shampoo
  • Leave on 1–2 minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Follow with conditioner

Why moderation matters:
Toning products are effective in small amounts. Overuse can reduce softness — particularly in porous or smoothing-treated hair.

What to Expect

With consistent use, most customers notice:

  • Improved softness and flexibility
  • Reduced rigidity after heat styling
  • Better moisture balance between washes
  • Hair that feels lighter and more natural

Why This Routine Works

Avoids unnecessary product overlap.

Hair that has undergone smoothing treatments does not usually need more strengthening.

It needs:

  • Intentional hydration
  • Controlled conditioning time
  • Balanced protection
  • Gradual moisture replenishment

This routine:

  • Supports scalp health without buildup
  • Restores softness through proper conditioning
  • Protects during heat styling
  • Replenishes moisture between washes
  •
