Step 1: Pre-Wash Scalp Oil
Scalp Oil
When:
1–2 hours before washing (or overnight if preferred)
How to use:
- Apply small amounts directly to the scalp (3-4ml)
- Massage gently (5-10 minutes)
- Leave on, then shampoo as normal
Why:
Supports scalp balance and circulation while reducing dryness-related breakage.
Step 2: Cleanse
Personalised Shampoo
How to use:
- Apply to the scalp only.
- Massage gently, then lather the foam from the scalp onto the rest of the hair.
- Avoid aggressively scrubbing the lengths — cleansing the scalp is the priority.
- Only apply shampoo to the ends if you have really long hair and the foam from the scalp isn’t enough to cover it. Use small amounts.
- Leave on for 2-3 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
High porosity hair does not need aggressive cleansing on the lengths.
Step 3: Condition (Most Important Step)
Personalised Conditioner
How to use:
- Apply generously to mid-lengths and ends
- Detangle gently by using a wet brush to comb out any knots picked up during washing.
- Leave on for several minutes. See porosity guide below.
- Rinse with lukewarm to cool water
- Conditioning time is more important than quantity. Combing the hair with a wet brush helps to distribute the conditioner.
This step restores softness and helps improve flexibility.
Step 4: Wash Day Styling (Choose One Option)
Heat Styling Days
#3 Shield & Shine Heat Protector
- Apply a small amount to damp hair.
- Focus on mid-lengths and ends.
- Comb through with a wet brush and let it sit for 2 minutes.
- Blow-dry or heat style as usual.
Do NOT use the hair mist on the same day.
The conditioner provides hydration, and the heat protector seals it in as well as tame frizz.
Air-Dry / Non-Heat Day
Do not use the heat protector.
Apply #1 Frizz Control, Shine & Hydration Hair Mist to damp hair. Comb through hair with fingers or brush.
Let hair air dry naturally.
Apply another few pumps of the mist to settle flyaways if needed.
Between Washes: Hydration and Frizz Control
#1 Frizz Control, Shine & Hydration Hair Mist
Use on dry hair, 2–3 times per week.
- Lightly mist mid-lengths and ends. Avoid the scalp.
- Smooth with your hands or use a brush to comb through.
- No heat required.
This replenishes moisture that naturally evaporates between washes.
Porosity Adjustment Guide
Hair porosity affects how your hair absorbs and retains moisture.
Here’s how to slightly adjust this routine depending on your hair type.
Low Porosity Hair
Hair resists moisture penetration and can feel product-heavy easily.
Adjustments:
- Use less conditioner
- Leave conditioner on 3–4 minutes only
- Use a small amount of heat protector
- Use hair mist lightly (fine spray, minimal layering)
- Avoid heavy reapplication between washes
Focus: Light layering and avoiding buildup.
Medium Porosity Hair
Hair generally holds moisture well and responds predictably.
Adjustments:
- Leave conditioner on 4–5 minutes
- Moderate heat protector use
- Hair mist 2–3 times per week
- Standard scalp oil timing
Focus: Balance and maintenance.
High Porosity Hair
Hair absorbs moisture quickly but loses it quickly.
Adjustments:
- Leave conditioner on 5–7 minutes
- Ensure thorough distribution through ends
- Use hair mist consistently between washes
- Heat protector only when doing heat styling or in place of the hair mist
- Avoid excessive protein layering
Focus: Moisture retention and flexibility.
When to Adjust Further
If hair feels:
- Heavy → Reduce product quantity.
- Rigid → Reduce strengthening products.
- Dry between washes → Increase mist frequency.
- Limp → Should not happen if you not layering products on the same day.
Important Notes
- Do not layer heat protector and hair mist on the same day.
- Avoid excessive product layering.
- Focus on softness and flexibility, not heavy coating.
- If hair feels rigid, reduce styling product quantity.
What to Expect
With consistent use, you should notice:
- Reduced frizz
- Improved softness
- Better elasticity
- Less breakage
- More manageable hair between washes
- Reduced frizz
